Our dedicated staff provides a safe and happy environment for children two years of age through Kindergarten. Welcome Krista Lee!

West Hills Baptist Church (WHBC) announces the hiring of Krista Lee as the next Director of the WHBC Preschool and Kindergarten. Krista will begin as director in July 2025 preparing the staff and school for a new school year.

Krista has served as an educator for Knox County Schools, Pellissippi State, and Webb School of Knoxville. She also served as Director of Christian Education at St. John’s Lutheran Church, and Director of Education and Community Partnerships at the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, she held leadership roles including curriculum development, budget creation, and team-building support.

School Board Executive Chair Richard Macon said, “Krista will make an excellent director with her passion for education and experience as both an educator and a community leader. Her love of children and their well-being outshines her exemplary background as an educator!” Candidates were assessed for their experience with nurturing and teaching children, developing parent relationships, advancing teacher development, reviewing and preparing curriculum, and compliance with safety requirements, including newly passed laws.

Board representative Lee Cross said, “We have a long-standing tradition of excellence at WHBC Preschool and Kindergarten, and only someone with Krista Lee’s education and experience can effectively guide the school into the next era. We look forward to a promising future.”

WHBC Preschool and Kindergarten was launched in 1969 and has maintained a reputation of excellence, offering educational opportunities for students that meet or exceed guidelines set by the Tennessee Department of Education for Early Childhood. The goal for each student is to prepare them to be successful when they enter elementary school.
